Spinify alternative for recruitment agencies
Spinify gamifies any sales team. Cowl runs a recruitment desk.
Spinify is a strong gamification product with a lot of integrations and a 14-day trial. If gamification is what you want, they're a straight answer. Cowl is narrower and goes deeper.
What Spinify is
Spinify is AI-assisted sales gamification: leaderboards, competitions, recognition and rewards, plus AI coaching, across a wide set of CRMs. Recruitment is one of around eight verticals they serve, alongside SaaS, insurance, real estate and others. They advertise a free 14-day trial with no card, and going live within a day of connecting a CRM.
Where Spinify wins
Things they do better than us.
Every comparison page on the internet says its author wins. Here's the part that's usually missing.
They already connect to Bullhorn and JobAdder. We do not.
This is the one that matters and there is no spinning it. Spinify names Bullhorn and JobAdder among its integrations, alongside Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics and Pipedrive. If you run Bullhorn and want a leaderboard, they can do that today and we cannot.
You can be live tomorrow, for free, without talking to anyone
A 14-day trial with no card, live within a day of connecting your CRM. That is a genuinely low-risk way to find out if boards change your desk. Our onboarding is an engineer and several weeks. Better in the end, worse if you want to try something on Tuesday.
Gamification is their whole craft
Competitions, streaks, recognition, rewards, AI coaching. They have built far more of this than we have, and they have the reviews to show for it. Cowl has a live board and a bell. If you want a competitions engine, that is them.
Buy Spinify instead if you're on Bullhorn or JobAdder, you want gamification specifically, and you'd like to try it this week without a sales call. That's a good offer and we can't match it today.
Where Cowl differs
What we do that they don't.
The contract desk. Invisible to a sales tool.
Day rates, contract days, margin per contractor, timesheets feeding commission. Their published Bullhorn integration names job orders, candidate submissions, placements and revenue metrics. The contract book isn't part of the pitch, which makes sense when your market is sales floors that don't have one. It's the gap Cowl was built for; the leaderboard came free.
Recruitment, not sales-in-general
A recruitment desk is not a sales team with different words. Splits, perm versus contract, threshold-and-band commission. Cowl models those because it was built somewhere they had to be right or people were paid wrong.
Commission, not just motivation
Spinify makes the number exciting. Cowl works out the number: billings, threshold, band, splits, overrides. With the working shown, because the working is what ends the monthly argument.
An engineer, not a connector
Their model is connect-and-go, which is exactly right when your data is clean. Ours is that someone comes and fixes the data first. A leaderboard on bad data is a very fast way to display the wrong numbers.

Cowl vs Spinify · questions
Spinify supports Bullhorn and Cowl does not. Why would we pick Cowl?
If a leaderboard is the whole requirement, you probably shouldn't. They'll be live before we've finished the audit, and that's a fair trade. People come to us when the boards aren't the problem: the contract book is invisible, commission is a spreadsheet, splits get argued over, and the underlying data isn't good enough for any tool to display honestly.
We run contract as well as perm. Does that change the answer?
It is most of the answer. Gamification tools are built for sales teams, and sales teams don't have a contract book. So day rates, contract days and margin per contractor aren't what they pitch. If your contract desk is material, that's the thing to compare on, not the leaderboard. Ask them directly; don't take our word for what their product does.
Is Cowl a gamification tool?
Partly. There is a live board and a bell that rings when a placement lands, and they work. But we have not built a competitions engine, and if that is what you are shopping for, Spinify has built far more of it than we have.
Can we use Spinify for the boards and Cowl for commission?
In principle. In practice both would want reading from the same ATS, and you'd be paying twice for overlapping visibility. Worth a conversation rather than a page.
Still think we're the fit?
Then it's worth 45 minutes. If it turns out Spinify is the better answer for your desk, we'll say so on the call. That's cheaper for everyone than finding out in month three.
